Steering

If you're experiencing problems with the steering line in your Polaris RZR, there's no need to replace the whole steering rack just yet. First, try tightening the backside nut of your RZR steering rack. This may fix the issue and save you money. Additionally, check the top bearing on the input shaft by having a helper wiggle the steering wheel while you observe the input shaft. If it's wiggling, it's a sign of a bad bearing that needs to be replaced. To do so, remove the rack, mark and count the revolutions on the rack and cap, unscrew the cap, and replace the bearing, ensuring to align the cap with the punch marks you made earlier. If you're looking to upgrade your steering rack, SuperATV offers heavy-duty options, but keep in mind that they don't make a steering rack for 2018 or newer Turbo RZRs. Racks for 16-18 XP 1000 and newer RZRs come in different sizes.

For riders looking to control their RZRs from the steering wheel alone, check out Sure Grip's hand controls. Some RZR owners we've spoken to have tried the portable hand controls, but in rough terrain, they tend to come off. That is why we suggest Sure Grip for those looking for hand controls. They bolt on easy and give you full control of your rig with just your hands. We've seen similar models bend when driving hard, but Sure Grip's Monarch Mark 1A model is built strong and, from what we've heard, is the best one for the money -- although it is a bit more expensive. If you do go with the Monarch, be sure it has the band clamp that wraps around the steering column. Additionally, you can also check with a company called United Access, they should be able to do full conversions for most makes, models, and editions of the Polaris RZR. Give us a jingle for any questions you may have about Polaris RZR steering or controls, we're happy to help!
