Polaris RZR 200 and RZR 170 Lift Kits

A RZR 170 that hangs up on the same rut every lap stops being fun in a hurry, and the kid driving it notices before you do. Two inches of ground clearance fixes most of that, and on these youth cars two inches is roughly the ceiling. The High Lifter kit for the RZR 200 gets there with four forged aluminum spring spacers, front and rear, for $94.95. The RT PRO kit for the RZR 170 gets there by moving the suspension itself, relocating the front spindles and the rear upper shock mounts and replacing the stock tie rods, for $870.04.

Those two kits do not cross over. The RZR 170 and the RZR 200 wear the same youth badge but they are different machines underneath, and lift hardware here is built per model. The 170 runs a chain, which is why the RT PRO kit ships an extra chain link for the changed rear geometry. The 200 lifts on spring preload, so its kit is four spacers and an afternoon. High Lifter and RT PRO are the two brands with real lift hardware for these cars. The ownership and management team here has 100+ combined years in the UTV industry, long enough to know which parts come back and which ones do not. We are the fitment experts. BUYER'S GUIDE: How to Choose a Polaris RZR 170 or RZR 200 Lift Kit

There are three ways to get a youth RZR further off the ground. Spring spacers use the suspension you already have. A full kit moves where the suspension bolts to the chassis. Taller tires raise the axle line without touching either. Most owners here are fixing the same thing, a machine that drags its belly where the rest of the family rolls through.

Ways to gain ground clearance on a Polaris RZR 170 or RZR 200
Type What it is Best for What you give up
Spring spacer lift Four forged aluminum spacers, front and rear, tuned as a set for 2 inches A RZR 200 needing clearance and tire room for under $100 Ride firms up and you trade away some compression travel
Full geometry lift kit Relocated front spindles and rear upper shock mounts, heavy-duty tie rods, extended front brake lines, rear wheel spacers, black powdercoat A RZR 170 seeing real trail miles, where steering geometry matters Roughly nine times the price, and drilling is required
Taller tires and wheels only Bolt-on, no suspension change Small clearance gains and a wider, more planted footprint Raises the axle line but not the chassis, and loads the driveline harder

If bigger tires are the plan, size them against the kit first and start with our youth RZR tires. And if two inches will not cover it, gear-driven clearance is the other route for these machines and it has a separate section of its own.

Where RZR 170 and RZR 200 Lift Hardware Earns Its Money

The tell on a youth lift kit is what comes in the box besides the brackets. The RT PRO RZR 170 kit includes extended front brake lines, because lifting a machine two inches puts the stock lines under tension they were never cut for. It also includes rear wheel spacers, because the front track widens when the spindles move and a car that runs wider up front than out back handles strangely. Kits that leave those parts out are cheaper for a reason. On the spacer side, High Lifter uses forged aluminum rather than generic pucks and tunes all four as a set. They have been building lift hardware since 1990, out of a Louisiana facility of roughly 52,000 square feet.

Here is what we see from the shop side. The stock tie rods on the RZR 170 are a known weak point before anybody lifts one. RT PRO replaces them outright and raises them so they work with the factory steering rack instead of fighting it. On a lifted 170 running hardware without tie rods, that is the first place to look.

What You'll Actually Pay to Lift a RZR 170 or RZR 200

This category has two prices and nothing in between. The High Lifter RZR 200 spacer kit is $94.95. The RT PRO RZR 170 kit is $870.04. There is no middle tier because there is no middle product. On a youth chassis you are either preloading the springs you have or moving the suspension mounting points, and those two jobs cost what they cost. Spend the $94.95 if your 200 needs clearance and nothing else. Spend the $870.04 if your 170 is earning it and you want the steering and brake lines sorted too.

Both kits assume you install them yourself, and both listings carry a downloadable install guide. Many of our listings do, with more added all the time. Most items ship within 24 hours, and any exceptions show a lead time right on the product page. The most common warranty is between 3-6 months, but Everything Polaris RZR does offer extended 1- and 2-year warranties on all products if that is something you are interested in — you can add the extended warranty right at checkout. High Lifter covers its spacer kit under a limited lifetime warranty. To see how that plays out for other owners, see what RZR owners say about us.

Polaris RZR 170 and RZR 200 Lift Kit Questions

Will a RZR 200 lift kit fit a RZR 170?

No. The kits here are built for one model each. The High Lifter spacer kit is listed for the RZR 200 and the RT PRO kit for the RZR 170, and neither is a universal youth part. Read the model on the badge rather than going by the year, and call us if the machine came to you used and you are not sure.

How much lift can you actually put on a youth RZR?

Two inches from the kits here, on either machine. That is not a brand limitation, it is what these chassis take before the driveline angles and the steering stop cooperating. More than that means the gear-driven route linked above, which raises the machine differently and changes the gearing at the same time.

Does lifting a RZR 170 or RZR 200 change how it handles?

It does, and it is worth thinking through before you order. Any lift raises the machine's center of gravity, and these are small cars that often have a newer driver behind the wheel. Two inches is a modest change and both kits were engineered for these chassis rather than adapted from something bigger, so neither turns a youth RZR into a handful. A lifted one does want a little more respect in off-camber turns. Width helps, which is part of why the RT PRO kit includes rear wheel spacers to match the widened front track.

Do I need to drill anything to install these?

For the RT PRO RZR 170 kit, yes. One hole per side gets drilled through the factory arm clevis with a 3/8 bit, and the spindle arms get drilled out to ½ inch for the tie rod adapter bushings. The rear shock relocation mount bolts in with no drilling. Everything else is bolt-together. The High Lifter spacer kit works on the spring side instead, and its downloadable install guide walks through the sequence.

Which kit should I start with?

Start with what the machine is. A RZR 200 has one option here, the $94.95 spacer kit, and it is the right call for most family riding. A 170 that only sees the yard is fine at stock ride height, but a 170 running rough trail is the case the RT PRO kit was built for. If you are between the two, text or call and we will talk it through.
