A Look At The Latest And Greatest Polaris RZR Windshields On The Market
Because people ride for different reasons, on different terrain types, and in different weather conditions, there is no single best windshield for the Polaris RZR. Many RZR owners run half windshields on their RZRs in the summer, then throw on a full RZR windshield when things get chilly in the winter. There are many combinations of RZR windshields that can work, but the most popular combo for all-year riding we’ve found are the RyFab full glass vented windshields for cooler weather, and the Rogue Powersports windscreen for warmer weather.
Vented RZR windshields are common as well, however many riders have complained that the lower flip-up vents on some brands don’t provide the same flow that a flip-up windshield does for those hot summer days. They do help to prevent the window from fogging up during those colder days if you run an enclosure on your rig. On a similar vein, flip-down RZR windshields are good for regulating heat for all-season riding. The only reason we’ve heard of why people don’t like their flip-down windshield is that they can cause the plastic cowling on the hood to wear when in the down position. Plus, flip-down windshields deflect absolutely zero wind, dust, or rain when flipped down, unlike a true half windshield that has an upper lip on the top to deflect unwanted debris.
Vented Glass RZR Windshield
The most popular RZR windshield setup among riders we’ve spoken to are vented glass windshields. Although you may need a windshield wiper -- or at least a nice coating of Rainex and a squeegee -- if you ride a lot of mud, glass windshields provide a greater degree of visibility than poly or plexi windshields and are more scratch resistant. Due to their cost, however, glass windshields are out of many riders’ budgets. That being said, Extreme Metal Products’ Laminated Safety Glass Windshield with a built-in windshield wiper is one of our best-selling Polaris RZR windshield for all-season driving. It’s laminated glass resists scratches and gashes, so you don’t have to worry about fast-flying mud, sticks or sand. And should you encounter any sticky debris, the manually-operated windshield wiper will maintain visibility no matter what the conditions are like outside.
Flip-Up RZR Windshields
Like vented RZR windshields, flip-up RZR windshields are also among our best-selling RZR windshields for all-around riding. And when it comes to flip-up windshields for the Polaris RZR, few do it better than SuperATV. With their scratch-resistant flip-up windshield, SuperATV allows riders to adjust their windshield to achieve optimal airflow. And because they use the proprietary polycarbonate Makrolon, you know that their windshields can take a beating, be it from airborne debris or damaging solar UV radiation.
RZR Half Windshields
Half windshields get a lot of flack. Sure they’re not the best when it gets rainy or cold, but they do provide a buffer from the wind and stop dust from infiltrating the cab. So if you’re riding in the heat and want that perfect amount of protection EMP’s half windshield won’t let you down. This UTV wind deflector is hard coated to prevent scratches, and tinted to lessen glare from the sun. It’s fastening clamps are super easy to use, making it perfect for quick installs and rapid removals.
