Imagine your RZR engine overheating. You let it cool off, you clean the radiator, and now it is having problems starting. You’ve checked the spark plugs, did a compression check for blown head gaskets, and listened for warped valves… but to no avail. Your engine is shot. This is a costly scenario that all riders dread. Yet it can be easily avoided with the proper equipment. Radiator guards, for instance, are great for protecting your Polaris RZR radiator from impact damage on the trail. However, internal problems can still occur. If your cooling fans or fan sensors aren’t functioning properly, your engine temperatures can skyrocket, which leads to bigger problems down the line if not corrected for. Even if your machine isn’t puking coolant out the overflow, it could still be running too hot. And while some riders think its ok if their fan doesn’t kick in until 210 degrees or limp mode kicks in, more cautions riders don’t let their temps rise above 200.

For this reason, running a clean radiator with properly functioning fans and fresh coolant is imperative. But if the thermostat is busted, these cooling measures won’t be triggered.
