Push-to-Talk
Push-To-Talk (PTT) is a type of communication device that is commonly used with two-way radios. However, this technology can also be applied to most UTV communication systems. Push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) is another great technology that allows riders to communicate with each other using their mobile devices. PoC, however, requires the availability of a cellular tower. If you're in an area with no reception, a two-way radio may be required to communicate between vehicles. Radios allow for UTV-To-UTV communication, with transmission distance being a function of the radio's wattage. Regardless of the communication device you're using, push-to-talk functionality can avoid interruptions, pauses, and chatter. Many RZR riders prefer running headsets with their communication devices, while others use amplified, waterproof speakers to turn their radio communication signals into sound waves. A PTT system enhances overall communication experience and helps avoid complications when dealing with multiple riders. It can be mounted on the dash, or a portable, handheld, PTT unit or integrated with a headset or helmet can be used.
