Here at EverythingPolarisRZR, we have known all along the great potential for utilizing the Polaris RZR® line up of vehicles for racing purposes, and earlier this month, Polaris and Red Bull Global Rallycross made it official. Red Bull Global Rallycross and Polaris will introduce a new racing series under the Red Bull GRC banner for the 2018 season.
The partnership is slated to span many years and will bring a brand new racing category to the series with the Polaris RZR® side-by-sides, growing the current Red Bull GRC competition landscape which presently includes the Supercar and GRC Lites classes.
“Polaris is the ideal partner for us to work with as we develop this new entry point class for young drivers to enter the sport of rallycross,” said Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne. “They are a high performance, dynamic brand that will bring more racing excitement to our fans, and will further expand our unique presence in the world of racing.”
The side-by-side race series will be the third Red Bull GRC racing category to take to the track in 2018. Joining the flagship Supercar class that launched with the series’ inception in 2011 and the GRC Lites driver development class that debuted in 2013, the side-by-side competition serves as a new and flexible entry point to Red Bull GRC.
“This partnership brings together two thrill-seeking brands synonymous with blazing their own trails,” said Matt Boone, marketing manager for Polaris RZR® and GENERAL®. “The side-by-side competition is the perfect opportunity to showcase a vehicle that is built for power and precision, and will add a new adrenaline-pumping experience for Red Bull GRC fans.”
According to Polaris and Red Bull GRC, more details about the racing vehicles will be made available in January 2018. We can’t wait to see where these exciting RZR® race battles will be held!
